Being stressed and tired can make us unhappy, impatient and frustrated. By regularly practicing mindfulness, you can improve your well being, overall health and lower stress. Frequent meditation helps to calm your mind and regain focus. Mindfulness is recognizing your thoughts and feelings without judging or reacting to them. A simple ten or fifteen minute breathing meditation is a great place to start managing stress and regaining a peaceful balance. Volunteering is a meaningful and positive way to have an impact on your community. Remember that we are all connected and sometimes need to depend on each other for assistance. When you volunteer, you give your time, energy and skills freely to help others. Be a leader and show people what you are passionate about and maybe you will inspire them too. A great place to get started is the Center for Food Action (CFA).
