In this class students will gain an understanding of geometric concepts and rules. Ideas like triangle congruence, similarity, reflections and the development of proofs will be explored throughout the year. Learners will also begin to understand that geometric shapes can be described by equations, and see the connections between algebra and geometry. We will also attempt to solve real-world geometric problems and illustrate the importance of mathematics outside of the classroom. The content of this course will also focus on preparing each student for success in standardized, and college-entrance exams. The student's knowledge of the content will be measured by a variety of methods, such as quizzes, tests, presentations, projects, activities, notes, visual and/or verbal assessments.
